CJ built his first
synthesizer at the age
of nine, but destroyed
it mere weeks afterwards.
Ever intent on
the aesthetic of decay,
CJ has spent the last
seven
years as a member of
the deconstructivist neo-folk
Dvesha Ensemble
based in Stockholm.

His return to the U.S. heralds
a new beginning for Blues By Default,
and much has already been completed...

A maximalist posi-darkwavecore band,
Blues By Default grew out of the ashes
of something cool and something else
that was equally cool, I'm sure.
Most things that are awesome
grow from ashes.
Phoenixes.
New forests.
Um, that's all I can think of
that grows from ashes.

It is the brainchild
of the two half-geniuses
also featured on this page.
Blues By Default
is the rising star of the music industry;
a beacon of hope in the desolation that is
modern music.
Sam

Sam is a student of
binaural
mediochromatic
melodicism.
He brings his expertise to bear
on the soundscapes
of Blues By Default,
and the results have been
nothing less than
astounding

He is the founding member of
School of Hake,
a pink noise, trans-human, alpha rock group.
Though critically panned,
Hake had a cult following
in the underground, trans-human scene.
